How Always Ready Survival handles your information. The short answer: we collect as little as possible, and your assessment data never leaves your browser.
A note on these documents. Always Ready Survival is in public beta. This policy accurately describes how the site handles your information today. It will be updated as beta features — such as email delivery and accounts — come online, and finalized before full launch.
The short version
We built this site to collect as little as possible. There are no advertising trackers, no analytics pixels, and no third-party cookies. Your assessment answers, checklists, and supply data stay in your own browser and are never sent to us. The only personal information we receive is an email address, and only if you choose to give us one.
Information kept only on your device
The ARES assessment, stock tracker, checklists, threat scenarios, and dashboard all save your entries in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or anyone else. We cannot see it.
It stays until you clear it — using the tools' reset buttons, or by clearing your browser data. Because it is tied to one browser on one device, it does not sync between your phone and computer, and clearing your browser removes it.
The keys we use for this include your last assessment result and score history, your mission-brief checkmarks, and a flag remembering you have seen the intro animation. None contain identifying information beyond what you enter.
Email you choose to share
If you submit the newsletter form or the contact form, we receive the email address you enter and any message you send. We use it only to reply to you or, for the newsletter, to send preparedness updates you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time.
During beta: the newsletter and contact forms are still being connected to a delivery service. Until that is live, a submission may not reach us and may not be stored anywhere. Please do not rely on these forms for anything time-sensitive during beta, and do not send sensitive personal information through them. Once a provider is connected, this section will name it and describe how long submissions are kept.
Fonts and hosting
This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address as part of that request. We do not control Google's handling of that data; see Google's privacy policy for details. We use these fonts only for appearance and receive nothing from Google about you.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like most hosts, Cloudflare may process standard technical request logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver and secure the site. See Cloudflare's privacy documentation for how it handles that data.
What we do not collect
We do not use advertising networks, we do not sell or rent any information, we do not set marketing or analytics cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors. We have no user accounts at this time, so there are no passwords or login records.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults making preparedness decisions for their households. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can clear all locally stored data yourself at any time through the reset controls or your browser settings. If you have given us your email, you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it.
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA may give you additional rights over your information. If you would like to exercise any such right, contact us through the contact page and we will respond as required by the law that applies to you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site grows — for example, when email delivery or user accounts go live. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above.
